Vintage Patterns for a Modern (Middle School) Man

The boxiness of a 50’s or an early 90’s blazer does not suit your slim 1stGrandKid. I would, some day, like to try my hand at making a 50’s suit look just right in a modern context, or even on-stage. But, for now, these patterns won’t do.

This, however, is excellent research for striking a pose! Please forward this to your favorite boy bands.

I wouldn’t show your 1stGrandKid any vintage patterns. He, like most actors, would not be able to see past the details like shoes, socks and hair. Hmm…part of why costume designers draw sketches. I will think about doing a sketch for this suit. In the meantime, there is are a few BTS GQ spreads that have enough vintage details for my purposes. Let’s see what he says about these:
